In 2025, Mania won the Silent Book Contest \u2013 Gianni De Conno Award<\/strong> for her debut wordless picture book The Bird<\/strong><\/em> (Il pettirosso<\/em><\/strong>, in Italian), published by Carthusia Edizioni<\/strong>. The book was showcased that year at the Bologna Children\u2019s Book Fair<\/strong> as part of the Silent Book Contest exhibition and premiered at the Turin International Book Fair (Salone Internazionale del Libro di Torino)<\/strong>. It later, in 2026, received the Junior Silent Book Award<\/strong>, becoming the first title to be chosen by both the international jury and the children’s jury of the competition. In the same year, Il pettirosso<\/em><\/strong> was awarded the Premio La Magna Capitana<\/strong> in the 6\u20138 years category, chosen by thousands of young readers from schools across Italy, and was selected among the finalists of the 45th Premio Andersen<\/strong> in the category Miglior Libro Senza Parole<\/em> (Best Wordless Book), one of the most respected distinctions in Italian children’s publishing.<\/p>\n Her illustrations don\u2019t demand attention but instead invite a quiet emotional connection, evoking serenity, empathy, and the feeling of being understood without words. Her work lingers softly in the mind, long after the page is turned.
